Earlier this year Southern Company and its affiliates announced a new 800 number and texting capabilities as part of the Company’s switch to a different Concerns Program reporting intake provider, Convercent.
Southern Company constantly strives to provide a safe and respectful environment for all our employees, contractors, customers, and business partners. However, in those rare cases when someone’s actions do not match our values – we all have a duty to act. That’s why the Concerns Program was created.
Prior to reaching out to the Concerns Program, employees should first attempt to speak with their manager about their given situation. However, if an employee is not comfortable approaching their manager, or if they feel their issue has not been fully resolved, they should feel comfortable and confident using the Concerns Program.
The program is a safe and secure place to report any suspected violation of the Code of Ethics, company policies, or any applicable laws or regulations. These same core values also require us to act with the highest degree of honesty, respect, fairness, and integrity with everyone we encounter.
Southern Company urges employees to act and speak up when things are not right. Employees should feel empowered to share their concerns without any fear of retaliation. Retaliation of any kind will not be tolerated under any circumstance!
You have choices
Employees canalways choose to remain anonymous if desired, along with details of their concern. If an employee chooses to remain anonymous to the Company – while sharing their contact information with Convercent – investigators can still ask important questions, through Convercent, while the employee’s identity is fully protected. Employees are encouraged to provide as many details as possible to help investigators understand all the facts and circumstances regarding their concern.
Your Concern Matters
Employees need to feel they can freely voice their concerns. Southern Company’s success depends on its ability to ensure that employees feel truly valued, and that they are comfortable voicing any concerns they have at work.
Continuously protecting and strengthening the cornerstones of our Company’s culture will help ensure a bright future for employees as well as the customers and communities they serve.
